Channel A’s docu-film advances to finals of WorldFest-Houston Festival

Channel A’s “Special Report: The Defectors from North Korea” has advanced to the finals in the documentary category of the 47th WorldFest-Houston Film Festival. As a program produced by a general programming channel, this is the first time for to make it to the finals and to win a prize.

WorldFest selects four finalists in each category and awards a platinum, a gold, a silver, and a bronze. Channel A’s film is on the final list and can at least expect a bronze.

“Special Report: The Defectors from North Korea” is a two-part documentary film covering the entire journey of 15 North Koreans including seven-year-old Shin-hyeok who leaves Hyesan, Yanggang Province, for Thailand via China.

WorldFest is the third oldest international film festival in North America, along with San Francisco and New York. This year’s film festival is held in Houston, Texas in the U.S. from April 4 through April 13.
