Quadruplets who were born with free Caesarian section surgery at a university hospital in Incheon due to poor economic condition of their family have acquired registered nurse licenses en masse upon graduating college. Now, they are set to hold a joint wedding ceremony.
The main figures in this story are Hwang Seul, Seol, Sol and Mil, who are working as nurses at the artificial kidney room and newborn care room at Gachon University Gil Hospital in Incheon. Except Hwang Seol, who married to her husband, a missionary, in November last year, the three other sisters will hold a joint wedding ceremony at Citizens Wedding Hall at Yongin City Hall, Gyeonggi Province next Saturday.
They were born on Jan. 11, 1989. Their mother, now 59, who visited her mothers home in Incheon just ahead of childbirth, had her amniotic fluid break, and was taken to the emergency room at Gil Hospital. She underwent Caesarian section to give birth the quadruplets, healthy and sound. Lee Gil-ya, president of Gachon University and then director of Gil Hospital, did not charge hospitalization fee, upon hearing that their father could not afford to pay for surgery as a miner in Samcheok City, Gangwon Province. When they were discharged from hospitalization, Lee also told the couple, When the quadruplets grew up and enter college, I will pay their college tuitions.
Time went by, and when Seol and Mil entered the three-year nursing department at Suwon Womens University in 2007, while Seol and Sol entered the three-year nursing department at Gangneung Yeongdong College, Lee provided more than 120 million won (110,000 U.S. dollars) as tuition until they graduated. When the quadruplets acquired registered nurse licenses in 2010, she hired all of them as nurses at Gil Hospital.
While working with the hospital, they entered the nursing department (night class) at Gachon University and won bachelors degree in February last year. It is a great blessing and privilege to have job at the hospital where we were born and I am extremely happy that we are going to hold our wedding together, said Seul, the eldest. We will have happy families and repay support that we`re received to many people.
