An Islamic terrorist group posted another terrorist threat demanding that the Korean government pull out its troops from Iraq, stating, "You only have seven days or else we will burn Seoul and make it crumble."

This has been the fourth terrorist threat against Korea since the Black Banners, a terrorist group affiliated with the Iraqi militant group Ansar Al-Sunna, threatened to carry out terrorist attacks on Korean troops and Koreans in Iraq.

On October 20, the AP reported a declaration posted on October 19 (Korean time) on an Islamic militant group’s website. The declaration stated, “This is the second warning against the Korean government, who are pawns of the American crusaders. You have seven days to pull your forces out of Iraq or we will burn Seoul and make it crumble.”

The declaration, which was entitled, “A warning against the Korean government,” also stated that “if Koreans do not rally to have their government pull their forces out of Iraq, they will have no one to blame but themselves when their cities turn to ashes.”

The government deduced that the vocabulary and the contents of the declaration were very similar to a previous threat made by the Hammoud Al-Masri Islamic terrorist group on October 10, and thus estimated that the declaration was most likely written by the same group or individual.
