5 companies including adult broadcasting companies and shopping malls that have sent `Spam mails` ignoring the rejection of the receivers were imposed to correctional fines.

The Ministry of Information and Communication imposed 4 million won correctional fines to Ikorea TV, Maekyung Husdaq, Carrot Korea, Inline Information Technology, Dawin Korea for the violation of the IT promotion and privacy law by repeatedly sending Spam mails for their own benefits. The companies were accused to Cyberprivacy Center (phone 1336, www.cyberprivacy.or.kr) for sending Spam mails indiscrimately to the Internet users even after they rejected to receive the mails.

MIC also ordered for corrections to 4 companies including Game Venture, Thrunet Shopping, Mr. K, OK Town that did not destroy the profiles of the seceded members or rejected to accept the secession of the members.

Meanwhile, MIC decided to strengthen the enforcement regulations to prohibit the attempts to avoid the filtering by using the title `A.d` or `A*d,` instead of allowed `Ad` until the related laws are revised to strengthen the punishment for the senders of illegal Spam mails.
