Rapper and producer Kush, under YG’s independent label The Black Label, was charged without detention. He was alleged for consuming cocaine on two occasions that he purchased from Nov. 26 to Dec. 12. Kush, who used to be a member of a reggae hip-hop team Stony Skunk, was a co-producer for many hit songs including 2NE1’s “I Don’t Care” in 2009 and Zion. T’s “Yanghwadaegyo” in 2014. It was been confirmed that Kush was being treated for depression.

YG is involved in yet another drug scandal in five months, after a stay of execution was pronounced against T.O.P., a Big Bang member, for admitting marijuana. In 2011, G-dragon, another member of Bing Bang, received suspension of prosecution and in 2010, Park Bom, a former member of 2NE1, was dismissed without indictment for smuggling narcotics.

As people witness consecutive drug scandals of YG, people criticize the entertainment company, saying, “As a company that leads the public culture industry, YG should be able to become a responsible company that lives up to its social influence,” while some expressed disappointment. “A company should not be responsible for an individual’s fault,” some Internet users said. “The concerned artist should receive thorough investigation, make sure it does not damage other YG artists, and act in a responsible manner for what he did.”
