The Chinese state-own newspaper Global Times reported on Friday that China would remain neutral even when the U.S makes retaliatory action if North Korea attacks Guam." The recent OP-ED implies a warning to Pyongyang that heightened tensions by announcing details of its action plan to stage an enveloping fire, launching four missiles near the Guam shores.

On Friday, Global Times issued an OP-ED titled "Reckless Game over the Korean Peninsula Runs Risk of Real War," the Chinese news outlet reported, "China should also make clear that if North Korea launches missiles to threaten U.S. soil first and the U.S. retaliates, China will stay neutral."

However, the Global Times also stressed that if the U.S. and South Korea carry out strikes and try to overthrow the North Korean regime and change the political pattern of the Korean Peninsula, China will prevent them from doing so.

"China opposes both nuclear proliferation and war in the Korean Peninsula. It will not encourage any side to stir up military conflict," the news outlet said. "China will strengthen cooperation with Russia as well."
