It has become belatedly known that actress Song Hye-kyo recently made a secret 100 million-won (about 86,393 U.S. dollars) donation to a children’s hospital. The actress made the donation to the Seoul National University Children's Hospital in May, on the occasion of Children's Day (May 5) and asked the hospital not to publicize the donation.

Last year, Song contributed her voice as a narrator to KBS-1 TV’s on the daily lives of the medical staff and the child patients at the hospital.

She also donated 150 million won (129,590 dollars) to the Beautiful Foundation, a nonprofit charity foundation, in December last year and footed the bill for making tourist information booklets for independence movement sites overseas.

Song, who has recently announced her plan to marry actor Song Joong-ki, will likely move into a 10 billion won (about 8.6 million dollars) house in Itaewon, Seoul. The groom-to-be purchased a two-story house with a lower-level floor in the neighborhood in January. The 601-square-meter property is under remodeling work. The actress also reportedly an owner of multi-million-dollar real estate assets.
