Ballet can be difficult to people. But at the 7th Korean Ballet Festival to be held from June 8 to 25, people can enjoy 12 works from 11 groups ranging from classical to modern ballet.

Univeral Ballet's "This is Modern" is constituted of three works including "Free Mor," "Minus 7," and "White Slip." Minus 7 is popular since the audience can dance on the stage. On June 3 and 10, the National Ballet's Kim Ji-young and Universal Ballet's Eon Jae-yong will hold ballet experience classes. Universal Ballet's Kim Kyung-sik and National Ballet's Kim Se-yeon will be lecturing on June 7 and 8.

The festival will be marked by male choreographers. Six among seven selected ones from public contesting are by male choreographers. The National Ballet, which will show off "Ballet Galla" on June 17 and 18, will also put on stage "Spartacus," called the highlight of male ballet from June 23 through 25 where people can feel the explosive energy by male choreographers.

Two new performances will also be presented. Cho Joo-hyun, a choreographer from Washington Ballet, and Kim Se-yeon, a senior ballerino from Spain's National Ballet, will perform on June 19 and 20, respectively. Both performances will have the life and death of two women as their theme.
