Korean scientists have developed a new measurement system that can detect the composition of PM 0.1 real-time. It shows whether it is from China and instantly analyzes the level of risk depending on the substance. It is expected to enhance more sophisticated fine particle forecast.
A team of researchers led by Professor Park Gi-hong of the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology said on Tuesday that it successfully developed an “aerosol mass analysis system” that can measure the composition of PM 0.1 for the first time in Korea.
The scientists have created a device that can analyze the substance of fine particles in the air by combining laser light control technology and the ion mass analysis technology, which is used to measure the mass of fine particulate mass used for measuring fine particulate mass. It took five years to complete the development after they studied the fine particle ingredient analysis. The researchers will commercialize the divide after developing a smaller one.
“It will not only replace imported devices but also advance researches on aerosol in Korea including fine particles,” Prof. Park said.
