Korea will be the first Asian country to host the global Electronic Dance Music (EDM) festival "World Club Dome." Leveraging the upcoming event scheduled with club music and festivals, the government is planning to attract more young foreign tourists.

As the organizer of the event, MPC Partners announced on Thursday that the World Club Dome will be held at Munhak Stadium in Incheon on Sept. 22-24. As the first festival opened in Frankfurt, Germany since 2013, the event attracts EDM fans across the borders every June. The event hosted some 135,000 visitors last year.

The event will be held for the first time in an Asian country. "As an electronic music genre commonly heard at clubs or festivals, EDM is the hottest music in the scene," said Bernd Breiter, founder of the World Club Dome. "The excellent facilities of airports and ports in Korea will invite numerous young fans from many neighboring Asian countries."

With the upcoming event, the Korea Tourism Organization aims to attract a total of 150,000 visitors, including 20,000 inbound tourists. At the current time, the organization is discussing with local travel agencies to find ways for a convenient escort to the venue to attract inbound visitors from Malaysia and Taiwan via chartered planes. In addition, the organization will actively unfold its global marketing activities mainly targeted to Thai and Hong Kong fans, by recruiting famous DJs from June. By building on its experience holding the first event, MPC plans to turn the World Club Dome into an annual event held in Korea every September.
