The photo of pianist Cho Seong-jin wearing a wrist wrap has become talk of the town.

A current Facebook post of Lotte Foundation read, “Wearing a wrist wrap, pianist Cho is giving out his autograph for his fans who have been in line even after his concert finished.” A white wrist protector underneath Cho’s right sleeve is seen from the photo.

The 22-year-old pianist had a solo concert at Lotte Concert Hall in Seoul on Tuesday and Wednesday last week, after of which he held signing events for his fans. On the first day, some 600 concert goers waited in line for about 48 minutes. The second day, however, attracted some 800 fans during the same time and gave an extra 3-minute photo time for those who were not lucky enough to have his autograph.

Cho is known to have worn the wrist wrap to minimize physical burden that may be caused by the signing event even though he is not suffering any pain in the wrist.

The photo has sparked pros and cons among his fans. “To protect his wrist, the signing event should have not been held in the first place,” some argued while others retorted, “Because it was such a rare chance for Cho and his fans to meet in person, the event had to be held even for a short time.”
