Pirelli Calendar, which became popular for female nude photos for the past 50 years, will contain black photos featuring barefaced female actors next year, said AP Wednesday. The purpose is to show the soul hidden behind the no make-up face.

Italian premium tire maker Pirelli held a press conference in Paris and revealed 40 photos of top female stars photographed by Peter Lindbergh known for cinematic images. Women in the pictures had no make-up on showing wrinkles and freckles.

Fourteen Hollywood female actors participated in the photography including Nicole Kidman, Kate Winslet, Uma Thurman, Julianne Moore, and Jessica Chastai, as well as China's Zhang Ziyi, France's Lea Seydoux and Sweden's Alicia Vikander. Lindberg said media emphasizes a perfect beauty of women but he wanted to show a different type of beauty.

Recently, wearing no make-up is spreading like a movement. Singer Alicia Keys has attended various events without wearing make-up and proudly standing in front of cameras. Gwyneth Paltrow posted in her Instagram a photo of herself barefaced on her birthday. Fashion magazine Vogue said they send messages that they love themselves as they are and want to live as their mind leads.

Pirelli Calendar broke its tradition of containing female nude photos last year. Last year's calendar photographed by female photographer Annie Leibovitz included those regarded as successful women including Ono Yoko and Serena Williams.
