The Korean Wave top star in China? Is it Park Hae-jin, not Song Joong-ki or Kim Su-hyun?

A post stamp that has actor Park's face in it will be issued in China. Various Chinese media said Monday that China Post Group Corporation will produce so-called Park Hae-jin stamp and launch sale in May. Phone cards and commemorative tokens where Park's face is embedded will also be made. The stamp will first sell in a limited edition of 100 sets. Later it will come out as normal stamps where people can buy at all post offices in China. The price or limited edition is 698 yuan (107.56 dollars) and ordinary stamps 0.8 yuan (0.12 dollar).

The stamp issuance is part of China's "Achieve China's Dream" project and the top 100 influential figures in the cultural sector were selected. Park was selected as the fifth stamp model after stars treated as most popular actors and singers in China. It is the first time that an official stamp of a Korean Wave star is being issued.

Park became popular after debuting in the drama "Qian Duo Duo′s Marriage Story" that was aired in 2011, and instilled an image as a working hard Korean actor at follow-ups "Another Kind of Splendid Life" and "Far Away Love." His Korean drama "Who Came From the Stars" also was a huge hit in China, which increased his popularity in the country. His latest drama "Cheese in the Trap" stirred huge interest in Weibo, Chinese version of Twitter, even before its official distribution in China.

Park's agency Mountain Movement sent out a press release saying "It is an honor that Park could join China's national project, where stamps had traditionally been issued for Chinese actors or singers of cultural importance."
