An integrated resort, including a concert hall for K-pop that can accommodate 15,000 seats all year long, a hotel, theme park and casino, is to be established adjacent to Incheon International Airport. This is a plan to make Yeongjong Island an "Air City," which will be self-sufficient through tourism and business.

Incheon International Airport Corporation announced on Thursday that constructions for the "Inspire Integrated Resort" will be initiated early next year in the Incheon International Airport IBC- III area and open in June 2022. Incheon International Airport Corporation signed a cooperation agreement for the development of the integrated resort with Inspire Integrated Resort (Inspire) and Paramount Pictures at the Grand Hyatt Incheon in Center for the development of the resort.

Incheon International Airport Corporation supports administrative procedures for the construction of the resort. Inspire, a special purpose corporation of Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment, will be in charge of the construction and operation of the casino resort, while Paramount Pictures will be operating a theme part using the contents of box office hits such as "Mission Impossible" and "Startrack."

The resort will cover a 550,000 square meter site in the 4.37 million-square-meter integrated resort. A five-star hotel with 1,256 rooms, a multi-purpose performance hall that can accommodate 15,000 people, indoor theme part, and a casino for foreigners will be developed first by 2022. In particular, it is Incheon International Airport Corporation’s plan to foster the multi-purpose performance hall as the "Mecca to spread the Korean Wave" by holding K-pop performances all year long so that people will be able to enjoy concerts, stay in hotels, and experience amusement facilities all at once.

Currently, the Paradise Integrated Resort, operated by the Paradise Group is in business since April 2017 on Yeongjong Island. “Incheon Airport is the only place where two integrated resorts are being operated within 3 kilometers from the airport,” said an official from the Incheon International Airport Corporation. “We will develop Incheon Airport Integrated City into a global tourist city that can compete with Singapore and Macao.”
