Actor Ki Ju-bong has won the best actor award at the 71st Rocarno Film Festival that came to an end on Saturday. The 63-year old has become the second South Korean actor to be awarded with the best actor award at international film festivals, since Jung Jae-young who starred in director Hong Sang-soo’s movie “Right Now, Wrong Then” released in 2015.

Ki personated a middle aged man named “Young-hwan” who meets two young women and his child in Hong’s new film “Gangbyun Hotel.” Hong’s latest movie was the only South Korean movie that was invited to the film festival nominated. Ki Ju-bong attended the festival with Hong and actress Kim Min-hee. Since his debut in 1977, Ki has been performing in various films and plays.
