Bang Si-hyuk (picture), producer of the South Korean boy band BTS, has joined the list of Billboard’s International Power Players.

Billboard included producer Bang in the list of this year’s 73 International Power Players, according to the list revealed Wednesday. “Produced by Bang, BTS’ Love Yourself: Her has sold over 1.6 million copies worldwide, according to BigHit, becoming the first album by a K-pop group to reach the top 10 of the Billboard 200,” said the Billboard magazine adding that the single “DNA” reached No. 37 on the Digital Song Sales tally. The U.S. magazine quoted producer Bang as saying, “There is a wealth of local artists to satisfy American music fans.”

Since 2014, Billboard has been announcing its annual “International Power Players,” who greatly affect the global music industry. The list is categorized into live, recording, digital, publishing, agency and trade group, and producer Bang has been included in this year’s recording category.

The “Executive of the Year,” which is considered the highest honor of all, went to Grumpy Old Management’s Stuart Camp, manager of the British pop star Ed Sheeran.

Meanwhile, BTS won the Top Social Artist Award at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards held on Sunday in Las Vegas.
