Among several, an event that draws most attention is “VR (Virtual Reality) Cinema in BIFF,” which is to be held from Oct. 13 to Oct. 20 on the first floor of the Busan Cinema Center. This is the first time the BIFF holds such a VR event where you can have VR experience of 36 films of various kind of genres, including drama, documentary and animation films, all free of charge. Also, “VR Cinema Production Case Study” is to be held where film directors and producers tell their VR production experience and knowhow.
You can also enjoy films at an outdoor theater that provides much higher picture quality with the most advanced projector. An outdoor theater of the Busan Cinema Center plans to show various films such as “Glass Garden” and “Love Education” as opening and closing films respectively as well as “MOTHER!,” “Monster Park,” “I Want to Eat Your Pancreas” and “The Shape of Water.” Meanwhile, Haneulyeon Theater of the Busan Cinema Center holds a “Cine Kids” section where the Korean subtitles of films “Bamse and the Witch” and “Lila’s Book” are to be read for children. Films “One Hundred and One Dalmatians” and “Alice in Wonderland” will also be played.
There is also an event where you can watch films while camping. Busan Film Experience Museum holds a “rooftop film camping in the city’s autumn night” event on the rooftop of the museum located in Jung-gu, Busan, from 3 p.m. Saturday to the next morning. You can put up a tent on the rooftop, have delicious food sold at food trucks and enjoy film music performances of indie bands. “La La Land” and “Begin Again” will also be played during the event.
