All eyes are on the future of world’s best mid-fielder Frank Lampard who recently announced his retirement after leaving his footprints at Chelsea in the English Premier League (EPL). Starting his professional career at West Ham United youth and senior teams and Swansea City, the 38-year-old was best known as “middle-riker (midfielder+striker),” scoring 147 goals at 429 matches during his Chelsea years from 2001 to 2014. No Chelsea player ever scored more than Lampard since the foundation of the club in 1905. Once considered as a minor team, Chelsea transformed into the strongest team in EPL after Lampard joined the club, winning three EPL titles and ranking second for four times. In addition, Lampard scored 29 goals during his 106 A-matches.

While several local media expect Lampard to return to Chelsea as coach, nothing has been confirmed yet. Chelsea manager Antonio Conte said that it is true that Lampard is a Chelsea legend, but there were no discussions on placing him as the coach. Still, possibilities are high that he will coach for the English national team. The Times reported that since Lampard has no experience in managing a team, it seems that he is strongly considering the possibility of coaching the English youth team.
