The Cleveland Cavaliers receive the highest annual salary among the world's sports leagues.

According to the Sporting Intelligence website's survey on annual salary of players at 333 teams in seven sports including football, basketball and baseball, released on Monday, with the name 2016 sports league average salary, Cleveland rank No. 1 with annual average salary at 6.55 million pounds, Cleveland's LeBron James receives the most at NBA.

Second ranking is the New York Yankees at around 8.55 billion Korean won, and third ranking is the Los Angeles Clippers at around 8.51 billion won. England Premier League's Manchester United with 8.48 billion won, rank fourth, becoming the top team among football teams.

Only one NBA team was listed among the top 12 salary list last year, but NBA sees eight teams in this year's list. According to the Sporting Intelligence, NBA signed contract with ESPN in 2014 for nine years at 24 billion dollars, raising profits for each club. As a result, salary cap increased this season to 94.1 million dollars, raising players' annual salary.

Football, where eight teams were listed in the top 12 last year, has just Manchester United and FC Barcelona on the list this year. The Daily Mail said due to Brexit, pound and euro value declined making European football clubs close their pockets. Also, rich clubs including Chelsea saw their profit plunge due to sluggish performance, reducing scouting high salary players.
