The Son Kee Chung Memorial Foundation will hold the 12th Son Kee Chung Peace Marathon at the main stadium of the Seoul Sports Complex in southern Seoul on November 20. The race will consist of four categories -- a full course, a half course, 10 kilometers and 5 kilometers. Up to 15,000 people can participate on the first-come-first-served basis. Applications can be submitted online by October 31 via a website commemorating Son's winning gold medal at the 1936 Berlin Olympics.

This year, a marathon photo exhibition and a special solo exhibition of a colonial-era writer Sim Hun will also take place in addition to the Korea New Sports Festival, which will consist of recreational sports events. Kim Sung-tae, a lawmaker and president of the foundation, said that he expected the events to become a culture and sports festival in memory of Son.
