Jeon Mi-jeong (see photo) has set a record of 24 wins as a Korean in JLPGA.

Jeon had a seven under in the final fourth round in the Nobuta Group Masters GC Ladies at Masters GC (par 72) in Hyogo Prefecture in Japan on Sunday. Though she was four strokes behind the leader, she recorded a 17-under 271, claiming a come-from-behind victory beating Japan’s Ritsuko Ryu by one stroke. This allowed Jeon to break the former record of 23 wins set by former KLPGA President Ku Ok-hee. The prize money is 25.2 million yen (248,450 U.S. dollars).

Jeon had a special relationship with Ku. When Jeon joined the JLPGA tour in 2005, Ku encouraged her even handing out some pocket money.

For nearly three years since 2013, Jeon faced with challenges including her right hand injury. After claiming her 23rd win in July at the Samantha Thavasa Girls Collection Ladies Tournament 2016, she has set a new milestone in three months after her comeback.
