Golfer Park In-bee will skip the KEB Hana Championship, the only LPGA Tour event that takes place in Korea, which the Rio de Janeiro Olympic gold medalist was expected to use as platform to make a comeback after rehabilitation from injury.

Park In-bee decided not to participate in the championship, which is scheduled to take place at Sky 72 Golf Club in Incheon on October 13, due to treatment of injury in her left hand thumb. Her aide said Park recently resumed training of shots, but her physical condition is still not good enough to enable her to compete in a tournament.

Park is reportedly considering participation in the KB Financial Group Star Championship to be held at Lakewood Country Club in Yangju, Gyeonggi Province for four days from October 20. She will determine her participation after waiting to see her recovery situation and condition.

Meanwhile, Park is set to play host to a competition between Korean female golfers based in Korea and those active in overseas tours, which will take place at Benest Country Club in Busan on November 25-27. The championship has been entitled "ING Life Park In-bee Invitational" to commemorate Park’s acquisition of the Olympic gold medal. To mark the second annual event this year, the tournament will invite 12 golfers from the Korea LPGA Tour including Park Sung-hyun, Koh Jin-young, and Kim Min-sun, and 12 Korean golfers active in the LPGA Tour including Kim Se-young, Jeon In-ji and Kim Hyo-joo to determine winners as a group. Park Sung-hyun, the champion of the Korea LPGA Tour, was named the MVP in last year’s event.
