A golfer aged 30 years is often called as the one over 60s in the Korean LPGA tour where players are at their peak in their early 20. However, Kim Bo-kyung (aged 30, Yojin C&E, photo), who enters her twelfth season, still walks on the field and staunchly competes with her juniors.

Whenever she participates in a competition, the record number of KLPGA tour attendance increases. After she breaks the record of maximum participation in the 2016 Bogner MBN Women’s Open last week, she attended her 238th game in the HighOne Resort Ladies Open, making a new record on Friday.

Since her debut in the KLPGA tour in 2005, Kim has earned four titles. But she is a consistent golfer given that she failed to make the cut only 22 times. She acquired a total of 2.17 billion won (1.95 million U.S. dollars) in prize money. She is quiet but strong. Her secret of success is practicing every day. She is known by other golfers as the one who stays late on the putting green by the last minute. She has spent almost 9 hours every day for practicing since her professional debut. “I don’t think I’m a talented golfer," Kim said. "I have to practice hard. I feel I’m strong through my mind as I experienced a lot.”

Born in a poor family, her father, Kim Jeong-won (61), still caddies for her. “I have to make plans for my parents while I play golf as a professional golfer," she said. "If I miss a seed or earned little in prize money, which is insufficient to cover up the expenses, I’ll retire with no regret. I want to live quietly by raising livestock.”

At the HighOne Resort Ladies Open, Kim was tied for third with 4 under par 68 strokes in the first round on Thursday and remained at the top list in the second round on Friday.
