The odds of a professional golfer making a hole-in-one are only 1 in 3,500. Taking into account of it, reaching a top position of 60 seems to be a no brainer. At the Rio Olympics, 60 golfers in each men’s and women’s competitions will take the stage to win the gold medal.

Park In-bee of Korea recorded a hole-in one on the sixth hole (177 yard) during her practice at the Olympic golf course on Monday local time, two days before the big tournament game begins. The 28-year-old golfer said she did not know that she hit a hole-in-one until she saw the ball in a hole. She added that this could be a good omen before her Olympic competition.

Park In-bee said she practiced everything for the Olympics stage and she wanted to play her best without having any regrets, expressing her hopes of good results at the Olympics. "My finger injury has been much better. I'll try my best for the fans with good performance on the green," Park said. She will achieve the Golden Slam if she wins the gold medal in Brazil after victories at all of the major US LPGA championships.

"The game would probably depend on what the wind does. I think I can manage her play well if the wind helps," she said after a tour of the course. "I need to use my imagination on the green as enough time is needed to understand the course that has bends and curves along the course. 'The grass in Rio is not much different from the grass in Thailand and Singapore. The grass looked better in condition after men’s competition," she said.

Park In-bee joined the Korean women’s national team as the oldest member with Kim Sei-young (27), Amy Yang (27) and Chun In-gee (22). "I will play only in women’s individual golf but I am hanging out with other national players to relieve stress," said Park. "Such a good team spirit would help Korean players show good performance on the green." Women’s match will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday local time.

In the meantime, Justin Rose of Britain won the gold medal in men’s competition after he shot a hole-in-one on the fourth hole in the first round.
