As the game resumed two hours later, Ryu had no further chance to take the mound. Of his 26 pitches, the Korean pitcher threw 20 strikes, secured two strikeouts and gave two hits. One run he gave was not an earned run.
Ryu pitched in a total of 23 innings in the six games he played as part of his rehabilitation process until Tuesday, and posted an ERA of 4.30. The problem is that since he has never pitched in more than four innings in any of these games, it is not possible to check his pitching performance in the first place. U.S. media including CBS say that Ryu will take the mound for rehabilitation once or twice again. Hence, he will not be able to return to the Major League in the first half of this season.
Kim Hyun-soo (28, Baltimore Orioles), who played after a two-game hiatus, had two hits and two walks in three times at bat, including a two-run homer and a two-base hit, and posted two RBIs and two runs. In the top of the fifth inning, Kim swung a fastball by San Diego Padres starting pitcher Erik Johnson (27) to garner the homer over the right fence.
Lee Dae-ho (34, Seattle Mariners) had two hits and one walk in three times at bat in a home game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Kang Jung-ho (29) of Pittsburgh did not play and took rest on the day.
Oh Seung-hwan (34, St. Louis Cardinals) took the mound in a game against the Kansas City Royals in the bottom of the ninth inning, when his team was leading 8-4. Oh faced a crisis of the bases filled, but managed to end the game without giving a score.
Park Byung-ho (30, Minnesota Twins), who played after resting two days, had no hits in four times at bat, and saw his batting average fall to 0.191.
