Tiger Woods disgraced himself in public at an event where he dumped three consecutive ceremonial shots into the pond. He had made an appearance at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda on Tuesday in the lead-up to the Quicken Loans National. Opening on June 26, the National will be hosted by Woods. He had prepared this event inviting sponsors and reporters to encourage sponsorship to the competition and to publicize it.

Woods hit three shots on the par-3 10th hole at a special teeing ground that was about 102 yards from there. The first ball landed well short in the pond fronting the green while the second shot found dry land, but rolled back into the water. When Woods will return to the field is uncertain after he left it in August last year after the Wyndham Championship due to back injury. Woods said he's "progressing nicely" in his return but he's still not sure when he'll return to competitive golf.
