It was a happy day for someone and sad one for another. Kang Jung-ho of the Pittsburgh Pirates led his team to win 5-4 against the Cincinnati Reds on Thursday by belting a homer and scoring the decisive run for team’s triumph. Blasting his third home run of the season in five games after returning to the ballpark, Kang declared his marked revival going two for three with two runs scored and bringing up his batting average to 0.333.

Choi Ji-man of the Los Angeles Angels, on the other hand, was designated for assignment (off of 40-man roster) 37 days after he was promoted to the big league. “He is composed at batter’s box but lacks experience. It would be difficult to adapt to the big league only with his experience during spring training. He should gain more experience in Triple-A and have eyes for balls,” coach Mike Scioscia explained the reason Choi was out of the roster. Out of 14 games this season, he has gone just 1-for-18 with six walks and six strikeouts.

Oh Seung-hwan from the St. Louis Cardinals who has been staying at Angels stadium for interleague play with Los Angeles Angels said, “I feel sorry for him as I know that he has pulled off to the big league. But this is not the end of the story and I believe that he will be back to the major league soon. Chin up, Choi.” Oh had relaxed for four consecutive days after the match against the Pittsburgh Pirates on last Sunday and his team won 5-2 on the day.
