Filipino boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao (38) completed his 21-year professional career by winning the retirement match.

In the World Boxing Organization (WBO)’s welterweight championship fight against Timothy Bradley Jr. (33) at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday local time, Pacquiao won the match in a unanimous decision of 3-0 by the judges. At 431 rounds in 66 matches since his pro debut in 1995, he hung up his gloves after posting 58 wins (including 38 knockdown wins), two draws and six losses overall.

After winning the World Boxing Confederation’s flyweight championship (51 kg or below) in 1998, Pacquiao swept eight weight classes through the super welterweight (70 kg) championship, to earn the nickname "Best Technician" of the generation. He alarmed the world boxing community in 2008 by securing TKO win in the eighth round in the fight against Oscar de la Hoya dubbed "Golden Boy," even though boxing experts had judged the Filipino boxer was inferior in performance.

Pacquiao had sought rematch with the American boxer in a bid to regain his fame, after losing the "fight of the century" against Floyd Mayweather (39), the "lossless boxer," in May last year. But since rematch was not arranged, he chose to play a return match against Bradley to conclude his career.

“As of now I am retired. I am going to go home and think about it but I want to be with my family. I want to serve the people," Pacquiao said. Currently, a member of the Philippine House of Representatives, Pacquiao will pursue a Senate seat in the upcoming general elections in May.
