Ryu Hyun-jin attended a fan meeting dubbed the Mobile Game "MLB 9 Innings" at Rivera Hotel in Seoul’s Gangnam district on Sunday. The Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher engaged in communications with fans through a quiz contest entitled "Quiz battle between people who know Ryu Hyun-jin very well" to solve questions about him. He also participated in a "Ball control battle" with children and presented uniforms as prizes, and "batting battle" in which he played a mobile game in person using a tablet PC.

Ryu suggested "20 wins" as his goal for the upcoming season. “In order for me to achieve 20 wins, I need to have an injury-free season,” Ryu said in expressing confidence. "I feel burden because I signed a one-year contract this time, but it is an achievable goal if I don’t suffer an injury. I can adequately achieve the goal." In the previous season, he had to stay away from the Major League race for three months due to a thigh injury. Soon after arriving in Korea in November last year for a visit, he started training at Jamsil Baseball Stadium, and finished the interval throwing program and other training sessions. He also completed a two-week training course in Okinawa, Japan from January 7.

The Los Angeles Dodgers will gather its lineup of pitchers to start a springing training camp in Arizona, the U.S. on February 14. “I will likely return to the U.S. next week," he said. "I will start preparation for the upcoming season together with my teammates at the spring camp.”
