History might be made in the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics opening February 9. This is because three sisters on the Canadian female moguls skiing team are attempting to sweep the podium. They are Maxime (29), Chloe (27) and Justine Dufour-Lapointe (24).

The Dufour-Lapointe sisters attended the preceding Sochi 2014 Olympics together. The youngest, Justine, won gold, and second Chloe won the silver. It was the third time in history that sisters had shared the podium by winning gold and silver in a single Winter Olympic event. Eldest Maxime placed 12th.

The three athletes competing at the PyeongChang Olympics are attempting to make history at Pyeongchang.” “Seeing my younger sisters stand on the podium four years ago is still vivid in my memory. I am dreaming of all three of us sweeping the podium at the PyeongChang Olympics,” Maxime said in a recent interview with NBC.

Their confidence is not without precedent. In the World Cup, where the world’s best athletes compete, they have swept the podium. The trio placed first, second and third in the International Ski Federation (FIS) Freestyle Ski World Cup women’s moguls held at Val Saint-Côme, near Montreal, Canada in January 2016.

Dufour-Lapointe sisters from Montreal, Canada began their careers when Maxime began skiing at 11. Chloe and Justine followed in the footsteps of her older sister at the age of 10 and eight, respectively. Justine, who used to receive chocolate for additional practice, has become the best athlete among the three.

The sisters, who compete alongside one another at various events and offer each other words of encouragement and advice, share the love of surfing. Last year, when visiting Korea for a competition, the trio enjoyed sightseeing and shopping.
