Korean sensation Park Sung-hyun clinched the 2017 LPGA Tour's Rookie of the Year award, also called the Louise Suggs Rookie of the Year award, at the LPGA Awards ceremony hosted at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Naples, Florida on Thursday.

The 24-year-old has been the strongest candidate since winning the U.S. Women’s Open and the Canadian Women’s Open.

“I could not get a rookie award in the KLPGA. I am so happy and honored to receive a rookie award from the LPGA,” Park said through a recorded video message in Korean. “I will keep this motivation as a rookie and do my best to achieve more.”
