The Pyeongchang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games held a ceremony Saturday to celebrate the completion of venues for the Olympics at the PyeongChang Olympic Stadium, where the opening and closing ceremonies will take place.

Yeo Hyung-koo, secretary-general of the organizing committee, and Choi Moon-soon, governor of Gangwon Province, were among those who celebrated the completion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. “Preparations for the Winter Games are now finished with the completion of the Olympic Stadium,” Choi said. “We will host a concert to find out whether there are any areas to be improved in terms of management or transportation, and will work on them as needed.”

Facilities required for the Winter Olympic Games including stadiums and event halls are now 99.7 percent complete, with only a few remaining works. The committee said that all stadiums have been certified by the International Association of Athletics Federations and will be 100 percent complete by next month.
