The 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics Game torch will arrive in Korea on Wednesday, 100 days before the Olympic Games.

The flame was lit in ancient Olympia, Greece, on last Tuesday and handed over at the Panathinaiko Stadium in Athens on Tuesday to become the “flame of PyeongChang.” PyeongChang Organizing Committee Chairman Lee Hee-beom received the torch from Hellenic Olympic Committee President Spyros Capralos.

　

The torch that left Athens on a chartered plane will arrive at Incheon International Airport on 10 a.m. Wednesday to be welcomed by more than 500 Korean citizens. It has been around 30 years since the torch left Korea after the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games.

The torch bearing will start at the Incheon Bridge. The first torch-bearers will be figure skating prospect Yoo Young, show host Yoo Jae-suk and singer and actress Suzy.

The flame of PyeongChang named “Let Everyone Shine” will travel 2,018 kilometers by 7,500 bearers for 101 days before being lit on the Olympic Flameholder on Feb. 9 next year in the opening ceremony of the 2018 Winter Olympics.
