The New York Yankees have advanced to the American League (AL) Championship Series for the first time in five years. On Thursday, the Yankees beat the Cleveland Indians 5-2 in Game 5 of the American League Division Series. The Yankees overcame a 2-0 deficit to win a best-of-five playoff series.

The Yankees, who were the AL Wild Card, are now dreaming about grabbing its 28th World Series title by defeating the Indians, which recorded this season’s highest winning rate of .630 with 102 wins and 60 defeats in the AL.

The Indians, which were hot during the second half of the season with 22 consecutive wins, will carry on the dishonor of longest World Series drought. The club has never won a Series title since its 1948 championship.

The Yankees will meet the Houston Astros in the seven-game American League Championship Series in their first post-season face-off since their 2015 Wild Card match.
