Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province is announcing on Monday “Revision on 2030 Basic Plan for Bucheon City,” which has reflected the lifting of the restriction on 1.94 million-square-meter development restriction zone or green belt and building a green industrial complex.

The revised plan has been approved by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and Gyeonggi Province, and it includes the development of previously-restricted areas into multisite of 1.358 million square meters and industrial site of 582,000 square meters.

Based on the result of “Project on Basic Plan for Daejang-dong Green Industrial Complex and Feasibility Test” slated to be completed by November, the city plans to establish the complex in the area by the year 2021. The goal is to invite as many as 1,600 new growth engine industries such as bio, new renewable and molding companies as well as multinational ones.

“Due to high land prices, not a few competitive businesses are moving to other cities,” the city explained. "With the newly-build green industry complex in Daejang-dong where residential, commercial and industrial places are mingled in harmony, we plan to attract more businesses to Bucheon."
