Korean film director Lim Kwon-taek’s "Mismatched Nose" (1980) has been officially invited to the classic section of the 69th Berlin Film Festival, which will be held from February 7 to 17. The classic section screens globally distinguished classic movies that have been recently recovered digitally. A total of six movies including Danish film director Carl Theodor Dreyer's "Ordet" (1995), directed by of Denmark and Hungarian director Marta Meszaros' "Adoption" (1975) will be screened.

"Mismatched Nose" tracks the 30 years of ill-fated relationship between Baek Gong-san (Kim Hee-ra) and police officer Song Gi-yeol (Choi Yoon-seok) who met as North Korean partisan and combat police for liquidating Communist guerillas during the Korean War. The movie successfully depicts the dark modern history of Korea realistically and is reviewed as a work with fierce sense of the times and criticism in Director Lim’s filmography.

The Korean Film Archive recovered the 35mm original negative film that it collected in 1990 into 2K digital and launched it in blue ray last July.
