A metal sculpture fell from a high-rise apartment building in Busan. According to a statement of Busan Nambu Police on Monday, a metal sculpture fell on a footpath of an apartment park in Suyeong-gu, Busan, at around 7:30 p.m. Thursday. It was a 14-centimeter tall and 12-centimeter wide sculpture of a Japanese samurai that weighed some 400 grams.

There was no casualty but it could have led to an accident as children were playing only five to 10 meters away. The father of a child reported it to the police when hearing his child’s saying, “Something strange fell with a thud.”

The police sent the sculpture to the National Forensic Service for identification. “We looked into two CCTVs, but weren’t able to find the exact spot because there is a blind spot,” a police insider said.

Police analysis found that the apartment complex has buildings with various heights from 18 to 36 floors, and the sculpture would have fallen from the height of the 25th floor. The police will apply criminal battery charges if a person threw the sculpture intentionally.

The sculpture was found out to be an ornament of a Japanese liquor product.
