A royal procession in which King Jeongjo visited his father’s tomb with his mother in 1795 was re-enacted by the city of Suwon in 1996 for the first time. However, it was only for eight kilometers. After Seoul joined the event last year, the procession was extended to 47.7 kilometers from Changdeok Palace to Suwon. As Hwaseong joins the event this year, the entire journey to the destination of the tomb can be re-enacted.
The procession will be joined by 4,391 people and 690 horses. It goes from Changdeok Palace to the tomb in Hwaseong via Siheung Temporary Palace and Suwon Hwaseong Temporary Palace.
