The GBU-43 bombed on Afghanistan by the U.S. on Thursday is called the “Mother of All Bombs (MOAB),” which is the strongest bomb of the U.S. Army secures, except the nuclear weapons. Dropped from 6 kilometers high in the air and blasts off a TNT 11 tons of destruction at 1.8 meters above ground, MOAB is often cited as the queen of bunker-buster for exploding rocks or underground facilities.

The GBU-43 was a remodeled version of the “Daisy Cutter,” which had been urgently injected during the Iraq War in 2003. Weighing 10.3 tons with the diameter of 103 centimeters and length of 9.18 meters, it was reported that the GBU-43 accompanies a devastating gale, which can turn several hundred meters of areas nearby into inferno. A mushroom cloud was observed 32 kilometers outside Florida where it was first tested in March 2003, with such powerful impact that its blast could be still heard outside 48 kilometers away. It was also known that MOAB costs 16 million dollars (approximately 18.2 billion won).
