The US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump declared "Americanism" as his key slogan, which indicates his nationalist ideas. Especially, he stated that he would re-examine the current FTAs including the Korea-US FTA, forewarning possible majors changes in the global politics and economy including the Korea-U.S. relations if Trump becomes the president.

In his acceptance speech at the Republic Party's convention held in Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland, Ohio on Thursday (local time), Trump declared, "The most important difference between our plan and that of our opponents, is that our plan will put America First. Americanism, not globalism, will be our credo. (The American people), I am your voice."

Trump will also re-examine current FTAs including the NAFTA and the Korea-US FTA. He mentioned Korean in his speech by saying, "(Clinton) supported the job killing trade deal with South Korea."
