People across Chinese are being outraged by an online video clip showing for 42-second footage of a person eventually being burned to death while being stuck between the security grilles on the window while trying to escape from a fire. The person who filmed the footage only concentrated on shooting despite repeated calls for "help."

According to the Hong Kong daily Ming Pao and the Legal Daily on Sunday, a fire broke out at a five-story house in Guangzhou in China’s Guangdong Province, at around 4 p.m. on Thursday last week. Li in his 30s rushed toward the window in a desperate bid to evacuate, but failed to escape due to the security grilles on the window, and struggled on. The man loudly cried “help,” but failed to make it.

The tragic footage showing a man being burned to death was filmed at an opposite side of the house in flames. The fire was put out by firefighters 40 minutes after outbreak. The 42-second video clip has earned hundreds of thousands of views after it was posted on Weibo (Chinese equivalent of Twitter).

The Guangdong provincial fire and disaster prevention authority criticized the person who filmed the footage, saying that the act of the person who filmed the footage was truly merciless. One netizen said, “How can you so calmly film the scene of a person dying. It is truly scary, while Eastday.com said, “It is disgrace of our time.”
