It has been belatedly reported that a well-known Norwegian politician has committed sex crimes against asylum seekers for years. The Norwegian prosecution announced on Wednesday that Svein Ludvigsen, a 72-year-old former fisheries minister and former governor of Tromso in northern Norway, has been charged with sexually abusing three asylum seekers over the period of seven years.

It has been reported that the former Norwegian fisheries minister exploited the vulnerable social status of asylum seekers and abused them sexually when serving as governor between the years of 2011 and 2017. Details of the victims were not revealed, but it is alleged that one of them has a mild mental disability. According to the charges, the abuse took place in his house, hotels, and even at his government office. Ludvigsen has denied all of the allegations.
