Having previously referred to his death as “moving to heaven,” Rev. Billy Graham’s grave marker reads “Preacher of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ,” reflecting his wishes. His pine plywood casket has a small engraving of a cross made by inmates at the Louisiana State Penitentiary where he spent time spreading the gospel.

“America's Pastor,” who died at age 99, was commemorated in a funeral service in a 28,000-square-foot white tent outside the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte, North Carolina. The tent was reminiscent of the revival assembly Rev. Graham conducted in Los Angeles in 1949. Rev. Graham was buried next to his wife, Ruth Bell Graham, in the prayer garden next to the library.

The funeral was attended by about 2,000 guests including President Donald Trump, Vice President Mike Pence and their wives. Other notable guests include Rudolf Giuliana, former mayor of New York City, and Ben Carson, U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. Former Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush did not attend the ceremony but visited his family early last week and offered their condolences.
