As Samsung's new smartphone Galaxy S8 is set to be released on next Tuesday, people began to wait in line already to be the first customer of the device.

A job applicant named Kim Yeong-beom (27) started sleeping out in front of T world Jonggak, branch store of SK Telecom located in Jongno-gu, Seoul, as of 9 p.m. Thursday. The reporter met him on Friday afternoon in the midst of oddly sudden rain before the store and he told, “I am a big fan of Samsung products and currently uses Galaxy S7. I am deeply interested in smartphones as I used to have three mobile phones in the past.”

He said that he brought with him a suit and dress shoes to wear at the purchase event when he became the first customer of the Galaxy S8. To make that happen, he has to camp out for six days and five nights.

It is common that people wait in line for two or three days for a launching event of the latest mobile phones. However, the number of days that people have to wait has extended thanks to the popularity of the upcoming Galaxy S8.

SK Telecom plans to provide the first subscriber with gifts worth at approximately 5 million won in total including UHD television and Lineage 2: Revolution Item.
