A series of good news has been announced in overseas construction industry that had been mired in the recession quite a while. Following SK Engineering & Construction and Daelim Industrial that won the construction project contract for the 1915 Canakkale Suspension Bridge of Turkey last month, Daewoo E&C has won a highway project in Qatar.

Daewoo E&C announced on Thursday that it concluded a project deal that will build an E-ring expressway worth of some 590 million U.S. dollars in Qatar on Wednesday local time. The project whose order had been placed by Public Works Authority of Qatar will build an 8.5-kilometer highway in southern Doha. Under the deal, the Korean construction company will extend the existing four-lane highway of 4.5 kilometers to eight and 14 lanes and add 4-kilometer road with same width.
