Samsung Electronics has ranked as the 7th most valuable brand among the world’s top-100 companies with brand value over 50 billion U.S. dollars. Furthermore, Hyundai Motor and Kia Motors also ranked 35th and 69th, respectively, in their brand value. The “World’s Most Valuable Brands” prepared by the brand consulting firm “Interbrand” was announced on Wednesday.

The first and second places have been taken by U.S. tech giants Apple and Google for four consecutive years. Apple saw its brand value increase by 5 percent year-on-year to 178.19 dollars, while Google jumped by 11 percent with its brand valued at 133.2 billion dollars.

Samsung Electronics' rank remained the same from last year, but its brand value rose by 14 percent year-on-year to 51.8 billion dollars. Compared to the 5.2 billion dollars in 2000 when it ranked at 43rd, the value has nearly jumped by 10-folds.

Hyundai Motor enjoyed a higher brand value, which rose by 11.1 percent year-on-year to 12.5 billion dollars, climbing four steps to be placed at 35th. Hyundai also saw a 3.5-time increase in its brand value from the initial 3.5 billion dollars in 2005 when the company made its first appearance in the Global Top-100 list. Kia Motors, which made it to the list since 2012, also rose by 12 percent to 6.33 billion dollars, rising five steps to 74th.

The brand with the highest growth this year was Facebook (15th), which rose by 48 percent from the 23rd place. Facebook was also chosen as the brand with the fastest brand value growth for three years in a row, followed by Amazon (33 percent), Lego (25 percent), Nissan (2 percent), and Adobe (21 percent).
