Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong (photo) has ranked on Bloomberg's annual list of the “50 Most Influential People" announced on Thursday (local time). The list was compiled by panelists consisting of Bloomberg reporters and editors who recommended around 100 candidates, and narrowed the field by senior editors who vetted and voted for the final 50.

Bloomberg said Lee led Samsung Electronics after Chairman Lee Kun-hee lied in a sickbed since 2014, adding that though Lee won praise for acting decisively with a recall on the Galaxy Note7, which could cost as much as 2 billion dollars, the damage to Samsung’s reputation continues to spread.

The first place went to British Prime Minister Theresa May who will lead the British Brexit (Britain’s decision to exit from the European Union). U.S. presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump tied in the second place. The Chinese President Xi Jinping was ranked fourth, followed by Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos at the fifth.

Softbank founder and CEO Son Jeong-ui (Japanese name: Masayoshi Son) came at 25th, while Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Dalian Wanda Group Chairman Wang Jianlin have been ranked at 39th and 43rd, respectively.
