SSD is a memory chip that is replacing the conventional hard disk drive. The new product is more than 30 times faster than the HDD on average, and is capable of transferring a high-resolution 3.7-gigabyte movie in about one second and storing it in two seconds. It can also reduce the booting time as well as the time for launching the screen when executing an application or game software.
The new product lineup comprises six, including 960 PRO (2TB, 1TB, 512GB), and 960 EVO (1TB, 500GB, 250GB) by storage capacity. Their prices have yet to be set. The products will be put on sale in phases in Korea, the U.S., China and Germany from October.
