Galaxy Note 7 subsidies set 260,000 won to the max

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 is gaining popularity nationwide and its pre-order record has already broken the Galaxy S7 by two times. The three mobile carriers of South Korea announced their subsidy plans of 264,000 won (237.13 U.S. dollars) to the max and began their promotion campaigns so that customers can purchase the phone at around 600,000 won (538.94 dollars).

"The record pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 7 in first 24 hours (Aug 6) exceeded that of the Galaxy S7 by twice or three times," an insider of the mobile industry said Sunday. "This is a record breaking number comparing to other high-end phones of Samsung.

Mobile carriers have installed booths in which customers can experience the Galaxy Note 7 in their major stores two to three days before to start the pre-order sales. Customers can try out the phone in about 2,800 stores of mobile carriers and Samsung Digital Plaza across the nation.

LG Uplus is offering the highest subsidies. If a customer purchases the 64-gigabyte version and signs up to the Data 100 plan (110,000 won, or 98.81 dollars, per month), he or she can get an extra discount that amounts up to 15 percent of the given subsidies or 39,600 won, which means that customer can buy the phone at 685,300 won (615.56 dollars). The original price of the phone is 988,900 won (888.26 dollars).

Subsides of SK Telecom and KT are lower than that of LG Uplus. Those who subscribe the Band 100 payment plan (around 110,000 won, or 98.81 dollars, per month) of SK Telecom can purchase the phone at 703,700 won (632 dollars). People who select the Net Select LTE Data 999 payment (around 100,000 won, or 89.82 dollars per month) of KT can buy the phone at 704,900 won (633.16 dollars).
