Nexon launches Sudden Attack 2 aiming to regain popularity

Korea's game developer Nexon launched Wendesday its official edition of Sudden Attack 2, a first person shooting game played in PCs, in hopes to regain customers in the Internet game market is increasingly being dominated by foreign rivals.

The game was developed by Nexon GT, a subsidiary of Nexon, and is a successor to Sudden Attack that once boasted of No. 1 share in PC rooms for consecutive 106 weeks and simultaneous access of more than 350,000 people.

People can use their existing nicknames used in the predecessor for Sudden Attack 2, while the list of friends and clan names are also maintained.

The records made in Sudden Attack including scores, classes and levels can be checked at the "My record" page in Nexon launches Sudden Attack 2 hoping to regain popularity.

"We have constantly worked on this project in the last four years with more than 100 developers in order to bring forth a sequel that could match reputation of the predecessor," said Kim Dae-hwon, development director at Nexon GT. "We also made efforts to create content that is only available in Sudden Attack to stimulate users' curiosity."

According to the latest weekly ranking on PC room share, foreign games are dominating with U.S.' Blizzard Entertainment's Overwatch and Riot Games' League of Legend having 31.55 percent and 26.55 percent, respectively. Since launching in May this year, Overwatch has been gaining huge popularity. Sudden Attack ranks at third with a 7.39 percent share.
